The site at 1609 Bauerle was a skinny urban lot that presented a challenge for a family who wanted to maximize the space of their new home. Our Austin architects were up for the test and designed a new build with a layout that favored one side of the property, creating a more extensive back and side yard space with lovely views from the interior. This classic Austinite home features a modern exterior with a low slope roof, locally sourced materials, and cool contemporary colors. A practical side entry off the carport gives the family access to a mudroom space to dump shoes and bags with close proximity to the laundry room. An open kitchen and living area features a large glass wall overlooking the side yard and a porch with an outdoor fireplace. White and gray shaker cabinets and cement tile backsplash take on a modern feel while giving the nod to timeless style. Our Austin architecture team fit four bedrooms into the floor plan, including a private master suite with a large bath, walk-in shower, and closet. Every inch of this small site was utilized to its full potential while still creating an open and airy living space for the family to grow and expand.
